There have been recent typhoons and dam discharges in Vietnam causing flooding with severe damages in some areas in Vietnam, for example in Phu Yen, Tuy Hoa region. Many lives were lost, and families lost their houses and everything also.
ICI, with priorities on clean water projects, public health and medical missions, and orphanages support, is now thankful to receive restricted donations for flood relief in Vietnam through our network of friends and supporters. Your donations will go directly to the people and villagers in Vietnam who need help.
We collaborate with different religious orders with priests and sisters who deliver the gifts to the people. Currently, we work with Sr. Bích Thủy, Tổng Phụ trách dòng Con Đức Mẹ Vô Nhiễm The Daughters of Mary Immaculate - Hue, 32 Kim Long, Hue, Vietnamwho travels to the Phu Yen, Tuy Hoa area to bring gifts to the people and will send photos and reports to us to share with you.

1. Public Health and Medical Mission – We are thankful to complete our 2024 annual public health and medical mission to 7 clinic sites at Nghe An, Nam Dinh, Buon Ma Thuoc, Dak Nong, and Quang Nam. A collaboration among ICI, SCA which provided funding for medications and gifts, and our host partners, physicians, pharmacists, and volunteers in Vietnam, we provided health education for about 400 people and primary care for more than 2700 patients at 7 different clinic sites, treating a total of more than 5400 medical conditions and dispensing thousands of medications/prescriptions. We also donated medications for three (3) sites: Fr. Van’s church community in Kontum, Sr. Trong’s local community in Buon Ma Thuot, and Phong Kham An Binh in Quang Nam to help with medications for patients throughout the upcoming year to help with sustainability of care.
2. Clean Water Projects – We completed and delivered seven (7) Clean Water Projects (CWPs) in 2024. We are grateful in partnership with SCA that provided water bottles and gifts to celebrate the grand opening of 6 clean water projects (CWPs) that serve more than 10,486 poor families, including 48,934 villagers in the central highland regions during this year’s trip.
3. Orphanages Support – We are thankful to continue supporting three (3) orphanages since 2022: Mai Am Betania and Mai Am Lam Bich in Nghe An, and Mai Am Tinh Me in Kien Giang. It can be busy and challenging for parents to take care of a few children, including those with special needs. Yet, several sisters take care of more than 140 children, with about 50 of them having many different disabilities, especially those at the Betania orphanage in Nghe An. We visited to provide third annual funding support for the children to have rehabilitation exercise equipment, learn to sew, gain basic computer skills, and learn English and music, all of which are essential skills to be ready for adulthood and to gain jobs to support oneself and have a better future. It’s noteworthy this year that we also provided healthcare for the children at Mai Am Lam Bich. Furthermore, we learned that two children at Mai Am Tinh Me will be starting nursing school in the summer of 2025. A doctor and her daughter who is a nurse and visited with these two children have also committed to help them throughout nursing school training.

We are thankful to complete our 2023 annual public health and medical mission to 4 clinic sites at Sapa, Buon Ma Thuot, Dak Lak, va Nghe An. Together with SCA, our team provided health education for ~300 people, primary care for ~1,131 patients with 3,272 conditions diagnosed and over 3,000 medications dispensed.
